Apple Pay

All the processing platforms, Worldpay, First Data, and others have responded to the digital payments market.  Apple Pay lead the rise and popularity of this “contactless” smart-phone form of payment.

This page applies specifically to 1ntegrity.biz worldpay customers, but customers on other platforms have access to the same features.  Please call 833.ONE.MARK with any questions regarding taking Apple Pay on your equipment.

Apple Pay is a technology powered by NFC or Near Field Communication.  If you were not aware, all VX520 terminals (enabled to take the EMV chipped cards), are capable of taking Apple Pay.   This has been the case since Worldpay released a software update in September 2014.   Your VX520 is capable of taking these kinds of transactions if you see a series of 4 lights above the device screen.

In the video below, WorldPay describes features and benefits of merchants taking Apple Pay payments.  They are easy to take, and don’t cost any differently than a “normal” card transaction.

ENHANCED SECURITY

Digital payments like Apple Pay have multiple layers of security that traditional payments do not have:

Tokenization protects card data

Tokenization replaces payment card account numbers at the POS with a random digital number called a token.

Biometric fingerprint reader protects user identify

The iPhone 6 and Apple Pay uses Biometric fingerprint technology to authenticate the card user

Consumer privacy protects consumer

Apple Pay is designed to protect consumer data by not saving transaction data. When card data is not stored intact, it is extremely difficult for hackers to reassemble it through decryption or reverse engineering.
